Digital Transformation of Industry

Digital transformation of Industry (Industry 4.0): Provides process optimization and automation solutions that can help manufacturers produce quickly and accurately, reduce costs, and increase capacity.

CEF eInvoicing cross-border LT – the goal of the project is to modernise the national information system “E. Account” by enabling contracting authorities and entities to accept and process electronic invoices that comply with the European e-invoicing standard, received from Lithuanian and other EU entities.

CEF eDelivery LT – eDelivery is one of the EC Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) building blocks. eDelivery helps authorities exchange electronic data and documents with other public institutions, businesses, and citizens securely and reliably. Link to webpage: https://edelivery.lt.

LBChain – the aim of the project is to create a blockchain-based fintech platform prototype. It will help Lithuanian and international companies gain new knowledge, carry out blockchain technology research, and adapt and test blockchain-based services in the activities of financial institutions. The Bank of Lithuania provides LBChain participants with a technical platform and consultations on applicable regulations. It is planned that this platform’s facilities will only be available to innovative companies selected according to certain criteria that devise and develop blockchain-based services and solutions.

EU4Digital – the aim of the project is to extend the benefits of the European Union’s Digital Single Market to the Eastern Partner states, supporting them in reducing roaming tariffs, developing high-speed broadband to boost economies and expand e-services, harmonizing digital frameworks across society in areas ranging from logistics to health, building cyber security, developing skills, and creating more jobs in the digital industry.

DIGINNO – the aim of the project is to increase the capacity and raise awareness of public institutions, organizations, and businesses in developing G2B digital cross-border (CB) services, promote transnational collaboration by building a G2B services digitalization network and community, and raise knowledge and awareness of success cases, developed showcases, opportunities, and benefits. Four showcase models of G2B cross-border e-services are being developed in the project: A. cross-border eCMR – paperless consignment notes in road transport, recognized by responsible institutions and used by businesses; B. cross-border online business registration with integrated eIDAS framework; C. KYC – cross-border remote Know-Your-Customer processes with eIDAS application; D. real-time economy – cross-border eReceipt application.

Industry Digitization LT – the objective of the project is to encourage micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to provide technology audits to help them assess the opportunities and perspectives for digitizing their production processes, thereby ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and value of their investment in digitalization. It will also help SMEs change and increase their productivity by introducing industrial process digitalization technologies into their production processes. Columbus has conducted a number of audits and is continuing to do so.

CEF eInvoicing cross-border LT – the purpose of the project is to modernize the e-Invoice information system and enable contracting authorities and entities to receive and process electronic invoices from other EU countries in accordance with European standard EN 16931-1:2017.

CEF eDelivery LT – the aim of the project is to create an Access Point with a Service Metadata Publisher (SMP) for the cross-border exchange of electronic documents. This enables Lithuanian economic entities to exchange electronic documents both among themselves and within the EU.

Industry 4.0 – 1. Part of the Lithuanian Industry 4.0 platform, which brings together all major stakeholders from different sectors and serves as the main consensus-building instrument in the Lithuanian ecosystem for industrial digitalisation. Link to the webpage: https://industrie40.lt/platform-pramone-4-0-structure/; 2. Project partner in the Interreg BSR project “Digital Innovation Network”, which aims to increase innovation capacity, boost the digital transformation of industrial SMEs, and create a sustainable network of key Industry 4.0 players across the Nordic-Baltic region. Digital Maturity Assessment – Process Digitization Audit (iEnterprise). A technological audit is carried out, which leads to analysis of company processes, IT infrastructure, and operations, develops short- and long-term action plans and related recommendations, develops a digitalization plan, compares it with other companies operating in the same sector in Lithuania, and makes recommendations and suggestions on GDPR. Concept validation and prototyping – deployment of Microsoft Business Management Systems NAV (D365BC) and AX (D365FO). In some cases, implementations develop a prototype to ensure that the proposed system solves the customer-identified problems. This is done in specific cases, but can be done if there is a desire to verify.

Concept validation and prototyping – Siemens Preactor system installation. Preactor is designed to optimize production plans (provide possible alternatives to the production plan and enable production planners to choose the plan that best fits the company’s interests). In the process, a prototype is developed with some system settings and partial customer data. The prototype is used to assess whether the solution will bring the expected benefits or solve the identified problems. Education and skills development – workshops are organized to educate and inform users about new business management systems and additional system capabilities. Information is provided on the appropriateness of solving one or other problems arising from or related to the use of the system concerned. Do You Have NAV/AX. What’s Next?

Software Microsoft D365BC (NAV). Demo environment – as a precursor to the acquisition of Siemens Preactor software to optimize production plans (i.e., provide possible alternatives to the production plan and allow production planners to choose the plan that best suits the company’s interests), a testing phase with the help of a system prototype is proposed, i.e., a prototype is created with some system settings and partial customer data. The prototype is used to validate the concept itself, i.e., whether the solution will bring the expected benefits or address the identified problems. This is TEST before INVEST.

Software Microsoft D365FO (AX). Demo environment – before deciding to purchase Microsoft D365FO (AX) software, customers may be given access to a DEMO environment where users can access the system and take certain steps. Initial introductory training is sufficient to enable users to perform certain actions in a DEMO environment.

Software Microsoft D365BC (NAV). Prototype – prior to making a decision to purchase Microsoft D365BC (NAV) software and when the DEMO environment was inadequate, a system prototype with certain system settings and partial customer data created by customer users, etc., is offered for decision making (i.e., investment). . The prototype is used to validate the concept itself, i.e., whether the solution will bring the expected benefits or address the identified problems. This is TEST before INVEST.

Software Microsoft PowerBI. Demo environment – as a precursor to Microsoft PowerBI software and Columbus-based dashboards, analysts looking at analyzing company performance across different cross-sections (i.e., Purchase, Sales, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Finance) are offered a try of DEMO, which can be viewed to see what dashboards are (i.e., how comfortable it is, what filters are offered, how much information is clearly displayed, how visually informative it is, etc.). This is TEST before INVEST. The demo is publicly available on the Columbus website.
