{"id":1176,"date":"2026-07-08T12:29:52","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T11:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infobalt.lt\/2026\/07\/08\/implementation-of-mission-driven-science-and-innovation-programs-no-02-002-p-0001\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T08:45:22","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T07:45:22","slug":"implementation-of-mission-driven-science-and-innovation-programs-no-02-002-p-0001","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infobalt.lt\/en\/2026\/07\/08\/implementation-of-mission-driven-science-and-innovation-programs-no-02-002-p-0001\/","title":{"rendered":"Implementation of Mission-Driven Science and Innovation Programs (No. 02-002-P-0001)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243;][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;418962&#8243;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-text\">\n<p><strong>Project description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The project \u201cImplementation of mission-based science and innovation programs\u201d will be implemented in three priority mission themes according to smart specialization priorities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cSafe and inclusive e-society\u201d \u2013 implemented by the Kaunas University of Technology consortium; <\/li>\n<li>\u201cSmart and climate-neutral Lithuania\u201d \u2013 implemented by the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University consortium;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cInnovations for health\u201d \u2013 implemented by the Vilnius University consortium.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Missions in different themes will promote joint science and business collaboration projects, develop and commercialize business and science ideas by establishing startups\/spin-off companies, conduct fundamental or early-stage scientific research, and fill existing service and infrastructure gaps for research and experimental development (R) activities at high technology readiness levels. During project implementation, the issue of the shortage of spin-off company\/startup incubators, prototyping spaces, and pilot production lines will be addressed. <\/p>\n<p>The activities planned in the project will be implemented by April 2026. During this period, 3 competence centers will be established (one in each theme), 23 R projects will be implemented, 41 prototypes and 32 unique products will be created, 19 international patent applications will be submitted, 55 scientific publications will be published, and 21 startups\/spin-off companies will be established.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Project objectives:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cSafe and inclusive e-society\u201d \u2013 to increase cyber resilience and reduce the risks of privacy violations and personal data leaks, which will contribute to improving Lithuania&#8217;s cybersecurity situation and ensure a safer and more inclusive digital society. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSmart and climate-neutral Lithuania\u201d \u2013 to improve environmental quality and reduce air pollution by contributing to the reduction of Lithuania&#8217;s greenhouse gas emissions, promoting the use of sustainable solutions in the construction sector, and accelerating the construction market&#8217;s transformation toward sustainability and zero waste.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInnovations for health\u201d \u2013 to establish a gene translation technology center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Investment in competence centers \u2013 establishment of 3 competence centers (construction and acquisition of R equipment);<\/li>\n<li>Joint mission programs \u2013 implementation of 23 R projects;<\/li>\n<li>Innovation support and consulting services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project implementer:<\/strong><br
