The scholarships have been awarded since 2011 in collaboration with the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. The best recognized papers from the Young Researchers Conference compete for the INFOBALT named scholarship. By 2024, 12 conferences have taken place, resulting in INFOBALT, together with the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, awarding over 100 main and incentive Young Researchers Scholarships. The goal of this project is to support outstanding research by young investigators, foster collaboration between IT business and science, and encourage scientific research in areas relevant to business involving the use of digital technologies. The initiative has been patronized by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania since its inception. From 2025, the scholarship funding and administration has been taken over by long-time scholarship sponsor Novian, UAB, while INFOBALT continues as a long-term conference partner.
